About Me
I have been teaching at WBO for over a decade. In the past I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Sometimes it was English Language Arts, sometimes Social Studies, and sometimes both.
On an educational note, I have masters' degrees from the University of St. Francis and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I served on the state committee for the newest Illinois Social Science learning standards, helping to develop them and delivering presentations on the middle grades standards. On a personal note, my hobbies are reading and biking.
I love teaching Social Sciences and Humanities, and I love working with students, colleagues, and families. My favorite moments are when students start to make connections between different grade levels and different disciplines--when they see that all of the subjects they learn in school intertwine to help them become the best person that they can be. Also, I am not shy about the fact that I expect Troy students to be above-and-beyond the best at everything.
Email is by far the easiest way to reach me, although it it possible to leave me a voice mail at school by calling the school office. My contact information can be found by clicking above: "About > Contact Information." Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or just to say hi.
Best regards,
Scott Larson
